Meet Geri

Workforce Challenge

Geri came into the Jeffco American Job Center seeking help finding a job. She had been out of work for nearly a year and had lost confidence in her resume writing, interviewing skills, qualifications, and herself. Geri began wondering if she was ever going to be able to find a new job.

Workforce Solution

Upon completion of a few initial assessments, the American Job Center staff found that Geri was a highly qualified job seeker. To best present that to employers, staff assisted Geri in reformatting her resume, refreshing her interview skills, and conversing with her to build her confidence and motivation. Working within the AddME Talent Pool, staff submitted Geri's resume for a position for which she was well-qualified, resulting in an interview and subsequently her being hired.

Outcomes & Benefits

Geri found a new, well paying position with help from the American Job Center in a relatively short amount of time. The center also provided on-the-job training funds to the employer for training Geri in her new position. Geri and her employer are both happy with this outcome!
