Workforce Challenge

APC Construction was having trouble finding qualified applicants for an administrative accountant positions. They had used many different placement agencies with varying results. APC was skeptical of using a government agency for staffing help, for fear of paperwork and red-tape, but decided to try it out anyway.

Workforce Solution

Upon receiving the job description from APC Construction, American Job Center staff conducted site visits to better understand the position and the culture of the company. The American Job Center staff marketed the position through the Connecting Colorado website and the "AddME Talent Pool." Resumes submitted by candidates were then screened and reviewed for the best fit to the position and culture of the company. The Job Center coordinated interviews with the oversight of APC Construction's hiring manager, and started the approval process for an On the Job Training (OJT) contract.

Outcomes & Benefits

APC hired an AddME Talent Pool member for the position and the company could not be happier! The screening process helped them find the perfect candidate, rather than just 'a' candidate. APC Construction said that after working with placement agencies for nearly 30 years, the AJC was as good, if not better, than any of those agencies and the OJT reimbursement was the 'icing on the cake'.
