B & G Oilfield Services

Workforce Challenge

B & G Oilfield Services, a privately-owned oilfield services company out of North Dakota, recently expanded its business to Weld County, Colorado, to perform contract work for Anadarko Petroleum in the surrounding area oilfields. B&G contacted Employment Services of Weld County seeking labor market information and assistance with recruiting and selection of qualified workers.

Workforce Solution

ESWC staff provided B&G an overview of available services and demonstrated how to use the Connecting Colorado system to recruit potential employees. The company registered a WEB account and posted positions for Experienced Roustabout Pushers and Roustabout Laborers on the site. Business Services staff followed up by searching the Connecting Colorado database for candidates who possessed the skills B & G desired. Once a group of candidates were identified, staff arranged for B&G to conduct pre-scheduled interviews. Nineteen individuals were interviewed over a two-day period.

Outcomes & Benefits

B&G was very pleased with the turnout and with the quality of the individuals interviewed. The company wants to continue to use ESWC’s services and facilities to fill more positions as operations expand. Thanks to the Business Services staff, B&G was also able to meeting with a representative from Aims Community College to discuss related certificate and degree programs. The company has also expressed interest in participating in the local Workforce Investment Board in the future.
