STARTEK

Workforce Challenge

STARTEK, a business process outsourcing company with seven facilities in the U.S. and sites both near and offshore, is expanding to Colorado Springs. Their new healthcare division needed to start recruiting and training staff immediately. However, their renovated building in Colorado Springs was not ready to be occupied.

Workforce Solution

STARTEK in Greeley, Colorado had a good working relationship with the workforce center in Greeley, so when STARTEK needed space in Colorado Springs to begin their recruiting efforts, they contacted the Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC). PPWFC provided a conference/training room to accommodate STARTEK’s needs. The El Paso County IT Department set up 17 connections for desktop computers and provided the computers and monitors on short notice. PPWFC recruited potential candidates for STARTEK and posted information about the STARTEK hiring events on the PPWFC website, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Outcomes & Benefits

“The process has been seamless,” says Jennifer Balliet, STARTEK HR manager. “Any requests we made to the PPWFC were accommodated.” To date, over 100 candidates have applied to STARTEK and job offers have been made to 83 people. The collaboration between STARTEK, the El Paso County IT Department and the Pikes Peak Workforce Center means that STARTEK is on track with employees for its upcoming soft launch and many citizens of El Paso County now have a job!
