Meet Steve

Workforce Challenge

Steve was scheduled to graduate in 2010, but found out that he did not have enough credits. He was very upset and disappointed by this news, but he still wanted to finish his education and graduate high school.

Workforce Solution

Steve looked into services at the Yuba County One-Stop, and met a counselor named Bryan Boyes. Bryan helped Steve enter the Adult Education program through the Marysville school district, where he started taking classes and having success. When Marysville Adult Education lost funding and had to close, Steve was helped to enroll back into his old charter school. "It was very difficult because of the additional graduation requirements," said Steve, "but I eventually completed them and graduated this year."

Outcomes & Benefits

Steve now has his high school diploma and is working part time. "I have a new outlook on what it takes to get something you want," said Steve. "I sincerely thank Bryan Boyes and the staff at Yuba County One-Stop for all the help and encouragement they have given me that got me to where I am today."
