Meet Latasha

Workforce Challenge

At 20 years old, Latasha was homeless and lacked basic job skills. She had little work experience and was in need of training and guidance. She had also been moving from one temporary location to the next.

Workforce Solution

When Latasha heard about the County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board Youth Program, she decided to attend an orientation. Immediately, she knew the program was right for her because it would lead to a career and a stable life. She enrolled and was started with the Provisional Accelerated Learning (PAL) Center, a Workforce Investment Board youth provider.

Outcomes & Benefits

Latasha overcame great obstacles to obtain her work readiness training including several relocations. During this time she persevered. With the support and mentorship of the Workforce Investment Board staff, she recently enrolled in a nine-month Criminal Justice/Criminal Security Administration program at UEI College.

“The program has had a good impact on me and provided great experiences and new challenges. I am excited about my progress and new career path," shares Latasha.
