Workforce Challenge

As a single mother of three with another baby on the way, Gena was going through a difficult time trying to make ends meet after being laid off from the mortgage industry due to outsourcing. She was a Loan Service Specialist for over five years and after much consideration, decided to enroll in a TAA-funded Paralegal Program.

Workforce Solution

Through the National Emergency Grant (NEG), SETA/Sacramento Works provided rental assistance so she could focus on training and upgrade her skills. Gena excelled in her courses and towards the end of the program, she found a job at Wells Fargo Bank as a Loan Service Specialist earning more than her last position. Although she's back in the loan industry, she couldn't be happier for the opportunity to be a part of the workforce once again.

Outcomes & Benefits

With one last class to take to fulfill all program requirements and a new addition to her family, Gena overcame the difficult time and is now able to make ends meet.
