Meet Amy

Workforce Challenge

Amy had many years of experience in food service and management positions in the food service industry, but she wanted to change fields. Her goal was to transfer the skills she had into a job as an administrator/office manager. She came to KansasWorks seeking new employment, and was unemployed at the time.

Workforce Solution

Amy was placed in the REA program (Re-employment eligibility and Assessment) where she worked one on one with a representative. Amy was required to submit her resume for review and attend multiple workshops. She also was asked to upload her resume to www.Kansasworks.com.
and was offered a position.

Outcomes & Benefits

In March, 2013, an employer found Amy's resume on KansasWorks and she was asked to interview for an open position. After the interview, Amy was hired by Aramark as a Supervisor of Retail Sales, at a very good starting salary.

"I am so excited! This is definitely not a position that I would have thought to apply for, so I have to thank KansasWorks and this program," said Amy. "Thank you!"
