Workforce Challenge

David Martin relocated to Greenville and devoted 8 years as a primary care worker for his aging parents. Returning to the workforce after an 8 year gap and advanced age was proving to be a struggle for David.He made many attempts to obtain employment with no success.

Workforce Solution

He registered with WIA for Intensive and Training services. David began working through CCEP part time at minimum wage at the Social Security Administration through Goodwill. While in WIA he updated his resume, participated in PET (Preferred Employer Training Program),Job Club and completed his WorkKeys® certificate. He was referred to SHARE for Career Skills Now for Advance Manufacturing Training.

Outcomes & Benefits

David completed his training and was hired as a temporary to work within Standard Motors Products.He was hired for the Machine Operator position working 12 hour shifts and weekends. Soon after, he was hired as a permanent full time with benefits.Since then he's had 3 promotions with pay increases. His current title is Internal Auditor where he's part of a workforce team.
