Reverse Control Inc

Workforce Challenge

Reverse Control, Inc., manufactures a remote mechanism that prevents large vehicles from backing without a spotter’s permission. As a new business, one of the company’s biggest challenges has been creating awareness of the product. The company is headquartered in Highland, Calif., but the product is manufactured in Pennsylvania. Terry Oelrich, the President and CEO, seeks to consolidate all operations in Highland once the company has enough growth to support the move.

Workforce Solution

While attending a trucking logistics seminar, Oelrich spoke with County Supervisor Josie Gonzales, who introduced her to the services provided by the Workforce Investment Board. Laura Harbison from the WIB’s business resource team suggested business workshops that would teach her how to maximize the company’s growth opportunities. Oelrich attended workshops on many topics, including presentation skills to help her promote the product.

Outcomes & Benefits

Although Reverse Control is still new, the support from the Workforce Investment Board created awareness about its product, leading to a connection with a national government client. This increased awareness led to company growth, advancing the proposed expansion and move forward. “I have been treated like gold,” Terry states. “Everyone has been so kind and supportive, especially Laura, who really seems to care about the success of my business."
