Meet Jake

Workforce Challenge

Jake's unemployment and disability income was not enough to cover the costs of finishing his education. Due to a family member's health condition, medical bills were adding up.

Workforce Solution

After Jake visited the Workforce Center, he learned that he could qualify for training assistance that would allow him to continue his education to obtain his skilled credential in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Additional costs stemming from medical bills were alleviated as well once Jake was able to access supportive services.

Outcomes & Benefits

Jake is nearing the completion of his training program, and has already been offered employment at a local aviation manufacturer as an assembly mechanic making approximately $14.50 per hour. This wage will help Jake get back on track and make a sustainable living.
