Meet Rolando

Workforce Challenge

Rolando is 25 years old and on federal probation for felony convictions. He has limited education, training, and work experience and has only been able to find temporary work for short periods of time in the past 2 years. He fears that if he does not find permanent work soon, he will not meet the conditions of probation and will be sent to prison. He is concerned about his families welfare if this should happen.

Workforce Solution

Through his work with a counselor at the Workforce Center,Rolando was able to receive training on how to overcome interview obstacles when explaining his past conviction history. He was a great student and very eager to learn. For the first time he felt comfortable and confident when discussing his conviction history.

Outcomes & Benefits

By focusing on his job skills in his interview, Rolando impressed his perspective employer and was able to gain employment.
