Meet Doneisha

Workforce Challenge

Doneisha was a single parent and was trying to sustain living on her own. She had limited work experience and no source of income. She enrolled in the WIA youth program hoping to gain some work experience and the chance at furthering her education.

Workforce Solution

Through the Central Oklahoma WIB, Doneisha was enrolled in the work experience program and received assistance with occupational skills training.

In Fall 2009, Doniesha enrolled at Rose State College in the Business Administration Human Resources program, with WIA funding assistance. In January, 2010, she began a second work experience at Regional Food Bank, where she was placed in the Human Relations department to gain experience in her career goal.

Outcomes & Benefits

Doniesha worked at Regional Food Bank under the WIA work experience program until April 1, 2010, at which time she was hired into a full time position by the organization. She has continued to work there since then as a Logistics Clerk.

Doneisha reports that the WIA youth program helped her get a job that she really likes with great benefits. Her work schedule allows her to be home every evening with her son. Doneisha feels that she benefited greatly through her participation in this program. Congratulations, Doneisha!
